As a manager looking to empower my team to be more proactive in their work activities and personal career, I got a lot more than expected from Patty’s Team Effectiveness and Career Management workshops. My people now have a better sense of self and are thinking and working more proactively. They were already a great team; they already liked each other and got along well. Subsequent to the team-building activity, they now have a better sense of their individual contribution and they’ve bonded even more than before – respecting each other as colleagues on a new level.

In addition, they have a better sense of the team’s contribution to the Nokia organization. Prior to the workshops, my team was asking, “How do we know that things will change? We’ve heard this all before.” Through clarifying the team’s role and value to the company, they got that they’re the ones who make the difference – and now they understand what to do with it.

It is very important to me and to the company that my employees take ownership of their role in the team’s success and that they think strategically as opposed to being directed by upper management. These workshops gave the accountability back to team, which will clearly have things work better in the future. Instead of waiting and blaming, they are taking action and are focused on results. It’s a very different dynamic now, and I see huge value in that.

10 months later
I highly recommend the team building program that Patty provided. It focused on identifying and recreating our team brand and our individual brands. The net result was that the team walked away with a very personal sense of how their actions contribute to customer perception and a renewed commitment to team integration. After the session, I set up one on one coaching for most of my team. Many have continued on, and I have seen huge results in their ability to lead people and drive the business.
