Managing a career can be a daunting task. While there are many aspects to career management, one of most important first steps to undertake is determining and managing one’s personal brand. Aligning self and career around talents, personality, needs and interests are key to developing a strong brand. Beyond that, having a clear vision is critical to any career strategy, and powerful, purposeful relationships are imperative to getting where you want to go.
People who are empowered to take charge of their careers are more confident, productive, motivated and loyal. That means more money to the bottom line for both the individual and the company.

“William Bridges calls it You & Co. … Fast Company magazine calls it Free Agent Nation and Unit-of-One. It all begins by your sitting at your desk and saying to yourself: ‘Okay, I’m still officially at Widgets & Co., but in fact, I’m Ms. Free Agent… on loan to Widgets & Co. for as long as I choose.” (Tom Peters, The Brand You 50)
